SpaceVPX System Power Supply Module

Frontgrade’s SPSM-PS is a 125W (nominal) 3U SpaceVPX Power Supply Module designed to plug into the RPS-PS & RPS-9X-PS systems, supporting 28V and 100V inputs and providing 12V system voltages at 125W (nominal). For increased power delivery, the SPSM-PS modules can operate in parallel current sharing functionality.

SpaceVPX System Power Supply Module (SPSM-PS)

The System Power Supply Module (SPSM-PS) is a 3U SpaceVPX form factor power supply supporting either unregulated 28V or 100V input power busses and converting to a local 12V (VS1) rail with 125W nominal (288W peak) output power to the RPS-PS and RPS-9X-PS system.  A novel approach to the SPSM-PS is that it combines the VITA 78.0 power supply and 6-channel Power Supply Switch profiles to create a main, unswitched, 12V rail and 6 additional switched 12V rails for the remaining plug-in cards within a single module. Each rail of the SPSM-PS can support up to 100W of continuous power after derating. For applications requiring more power, the SPSM-PS can operate in parallel in a current sharing configuration.
