SpaceVPX Reconfigurable Processing System 9-Slot eXtensible

Frontgrade’s RPS-9X-PS is a 9-Slot 3U SpaceVPX reconfigurable processing system integrating up to 3 RPM-PS modules and their associated Input/Output XMC+ Mezzanine (IOM-PS) daughter cards along with a dedicated SpaceVPX System Controller Card and parallelable 125W (nominal) 6-Rail Switched Output SpaceVPX Power Supply Modules (SPSM-PS).

SpaceVPX Reconfigurable Processing System 9-Slot eXtensible (RPS-9X-PS)

The SpaceVPX 9-slot eXtensible Reconfigurable Processing System (RPS-9X-PS) is an extension of the 2-slot RPS-PS providing a broad range of subsystem configurations by mixing/combining up to 3 Frontgrade RPM-PS modules, System Ethernet I/F Module (SEIM-PS), System RF Module (SRFM-PS), System Power Supply Modules (SPSM-PS), and other building blocks such as Solid State Mass Memory Units. Through its flexibility and available building blocks, the RPS-9X-PS can be purpose built to fit a broad range of applications such as software defined radios, ethernet switches, high throughput data and signal processing instruments, among others.

In its standard configuration, the RPS-9X-PS boasts the following attributes:

  • Processor: Versal® VC1902 System-on-Chip (SoC) with dual A72 ARM™ cores (up to 1.7 GHz) and dual Cortex-R5® cores (up to 750 MHz)

  • Non-Volatile Storage: 1Tb maximum of raw data storage in SLC mode

When configured with the RPM-PS I/O mezzanine card – Per RPM-PS Instantiation:

  • One 100Base-TX and four 1000Base-T ports
  • Four SpaceWire ports of up to 200 Mbps per port
  • Redundant RS422 1PPS inputs
  • One RS422 UART
  • Discrete IOs: 3 LVDS inputs, 1 LVDS pulse output,1 LVTTL/LVCMOS input, and 4 LVTTL/LVCMOS outputs
