Aethercomm Model Number SSPA 0.020-6.000-35 is a high power, super broadband, Gallium Nitride RF amplifier that operates from 20 MHz to 6000 MHz. This PA is ideal for broadband military platforms as well as commercial applications because it is robust and offers high power over a multi-decade bandwidth with decent power added efficiency. This is an industry first for bandwidth, power and efficiency in a package like this.

This super broadband RF power amplifier operates from a base plate temperature -30°C to +70°C for maximum performance. It is packaged in a modular housing that is 7.65(w)” by 2.5(l)” by 1.27(h)”. This GaN amplifier has a typical P3dB between 35 to 50 watts at room temperature. Noise figure at room temperature is 12.0 dB typical. This GaN broadband amplifier offers a typical gain of 49 dB with a typical gain flatness of ± 4.0 dB. The power and gain flatness across the band is extremely flat for the bandwidth.

Input VSWR is 2.0:1 maximum. Class AB quiescent current is 6.4 amps typical employing a +28Vdc supply. This broadband PA operates from a +28Vdc ± 1.0% input voltage. This GaN Broadband SSPA amplifier includes an external DC blanking command that enables and disables the module in less than 20.0 uSec. A logic low or open circuit commands the PA OFF. A logic high commands this broadband amplifier ON.

Standard features include over/under voltage protection and reverse polarity protection. The output is fully protected from an open or short circuit presented to this port with no damage. Input and output RF connectors are SMA female. DC and command voltages are accessible via a DSUB connector. Contact an expert below for a configuration drawing. Preliminary test data is found on Sheet 2 of this data sheet at room temperature.
