Frontgrade's Crosspoint Switch Receives QML-V Rating

ARLINGTON, Va. – CAES, a leading provider of mission critical electronics for aerospace and defense, has attained the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Qualified Manufacturers List Class V (QML-V) rating for its Crosspoint Switch. The QML-V qualification assures customers that it has been through the harshest and most rigorous testing standards that the space industry requires.

The fully duplex 8x8 RadHard Crosspoint Switch is highly reliable, versatile and protocol agnostic. This serial data switch can support any serial communication protocol with signaling ranges from 100 Mbps through 3.125 Gbps such as XAUI, SpaceFibre and serial RapidIOTM.

The Crosspoint Switch offers independent power control for each transmit and receive port. Depending on the application, users have the ability to power down unused channels, contributing to spacecraft power reduction and thermal management challenges. These features are configurable through the Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI). In addition, the device also features receiver equalization capabilities to restore some of the energy that is lost as the data is transferred across the channel. Fully SpaceVPX-compatible, the non-blocking crosspoint switching architecture provides a highly flexible solution for cross-strapping, multiplexing and demultiplexing data communication applications.
