Todd Thornton

Todd Thornton currently serves as Chief Strategist at Frontgrade, with a focus on RF Solutions. Todd joined Frontgrade upon its 2023 acquisition of Aethercomm, the successful defense and aerospace company he founded in 1999. Now a Frontgrade company, Aethercomm continues to be an industry leading provider of ground and airborne electronic warfare and electronic attack hardware while also developing best-in-class radar and communications hardware.

Todd brings to Frontgrade 40+ years of experience in high-power RF, microwave, and millimeter wave design and productization. Prior to establishing Aethercomm and serving as its President, CEO, and Chief Architect for 24 years, Todd held roles with GE Astro Space, Electromagnetic Sciences, and REMEC, often focusing on space-based solid state power amplifiers.

With his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University, Todd received his Master of Science in EE from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is also a United States Marine Corps veteran.
